Geum 'Bell Bank'
18/05/2008
Geum ‘Bell Bank’, was raised by Geoffrey Smith but reintroduced by Dove Cottage Nursery a few years ago. The flowers are double opening from fat nodding buds. As the flowers develop the veined petals change colour fading to paler pink and becoming upward facing. Fluffy seed heads. Usually develops mildew in a dry summer but I just slash them back, and water them well. Such a charming flower and so many of them! Always admired. Easy to propagate, and they build up in size quickly.
Dove Cottage is one of my most favourite nurseries- very interesting selection of GOOD healthy plants, lovely people and a fantastic garden. No mail order but well worth a visit. See Links for details.
